Are you a beginner to the embroidery game?  Good!

Today I will share with you some embroidery machine tips for beginners in this 2021 starter guide.

I understand that starting out in embroidery can be a bit tricky. I know, cause I have been there before. Not to worry here. I will guide you through the basics and get you started on your journey.

Although there are plenty of instructional manuals for each machine, which you should read anyway, I have always found learning easier with other people. And that is why I love to help others like me as well. So here it goes.

On top of that, I will give you a few links to the best accessories available today, so you are ready to go. Sounds fun? Well, let’s get into it!

Embroidery Machine Essentials:

I love giving embroidery machine tips and helping you out with choosing the right gear to set up your embroidery adventure. I just hope that I will be able to see your creations one day! Ok, let’s check out what you need to get started:

Brother Embroidery Stabilizer

Brother SA519 is one of the best stabilizers there are on the market right now! The package comes with 3 sheets measuring 11.0236” x 39.37” (or 28cm x 100cm).

The stabilizer is made from white paper fiber and it is applied by ironing it on. Not to worry though, it is very easily removable thus easy to reposition as well. It is a genuine Brother made accessory and it is made for all embroidery machines.

Brother Embroidery Needles

Organ brand is Brother’s approved and extensively tested quality needle and I love it! There are 20 in the set, 10  in each pack.

These needles are designed with a flat back shank and a special large eye to prevent breakage and shredding when embroidering with metallic and other machine threads.

They are compatible to use with all the major and minor brands.

Embroidery Scissors

Fiskars 98087097J Curved Craft Scissors are essential for every embroidery fanatic. The specially curved tip is ideal for trimming loose threads flush against the surface of the fabric without any damage to the fabric.

These scissors have stainless steel blades and stay very sharp for a long time! I can concur!
